Curved surfaces can be measured most accurate with 3D laser scanning. No other method is able to detect hull surfaces covering 100% of a ship. After scanning and referencing the scan files there are different methods and examples how to post process. Designing improvements for the hull, construction of ship windows or just deformation analysis are some applications in the upcoming digital process chain of ship building.
